Promotion and presentation of Czech theatre abroad

The Arts and Theatre Institute (once the Theatre Institute) has a long-term and successful tradition in promotion and presentation of Czech theatre aned Czech art abroad. Since 2009, a newly founded International Cooperation and External Relations Department prepares foreign and Czech projects; it collaborates with other departments of the ATI and many Czech and foreign partners. The projects are bilateral and two and more parties regularly take part in realization. apart from the foreign projects, we also prepare projects in the Czech Republic, e.g. Czech Theatre Showcase. Many events and presentations are "ready-made".

Exhibitions

The Arts and Theatre Institute (ATI, once known as the Theatre Institute) is a traditional organizer of exhibitions in the Czech Republic and obroad. The exhibitions are supplied and executed by a newly founded Collections and Archive Department and International Cooperation and External Relations Department.

Intensity and size of the exhibitions vary, from financially less demanding and very mobile exhibitions that can be presendted on more places and therefore they find wider audience to more demandingt exhibitions where we focus on high-quality installations. The sire of the exhibitions is flexible, from chamber to medium-seze ones. Almost all exhibitions prepared by the ATI are "ready-made".

Acquisition of photo-documentation and collecting activity allows us to prepare exhibitions from all fields of Czech theatre. We supply the exhibitions weth professional presenatations, lectures, catalogues etc. Photographs, stage design, documents, program brochures, materials about connections and links etc. are usually adjusted on 30 - 40 panels (100 x 70 cm) that are easyto transport and it is not complicated to install them. Depending on the financial sources, we are able to prepare not only a catalogue but also posters, leaflets, PR materials or a website in the target language. Abou a half of the exhibition projects in executed abroad and they are a part of a long-time project Presentation of Czech Theatre abroad or the exhibitions are a part of bigger projects (Invasion to Europe, Czech theatre in Latin America etc).

Exhibitions are mostly realized in cooperation weiht other subjects: Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Czech Centres various foreign partner instituttions. Abou 10 exhibitions are realized this way every year. The Prague Quadrennial in an exceptional exhibition project.
