Science and Research Council

The Science and Research Council of the Arts and Theatre Institute (ATI) was established on 1 January 2011 as an advisory body to the Director of the ATI. Since the  1 november, 2014 it has transformed into  The Science, Research and Editorial Council. It has also separated into two independent sections -  The Science, Research and Editorial  Council of the Arts Institute and The Science, Research and Edit Council  of the Theatre Institute.

The mission of both - The Science and Research Council of the Arts Institute and Theatre Institute - is to coordinate short-term and long-term concepts for the science and research activities of the institute and provide comprehensive support and assessments for the current and planned science and research projects as well as the editorial projects of the staff of the ATI.

The council is main decision-making body for science and research at the ATI.

The Council’s functions are to:

  • debate the long-term objectives in science, research, and education and other activities of the Arts Institute/ Theatre Institute
  • comment on the science and research tasks and evaluate grant and other science and research projects in internal project assessment procedures
  • propose criteria for the evaluation of the science and research activities of the institute’s researchers, which is an essential part of their overall evaluation
  • comment on the use of the ATI’s funding for R&D within the context of its institutional funding and in reference to the materials of the Council for Research, Development and Innovation
  • comment on the Arts Institute’s / Theatre Institute’s publishing activities and concepts
  • supports the Arts Institute’s / Theatre Institute’s cooperation and contacts abroad in the fields of science, research and development.
